Violence in different areas after Dakait’s killing KARACHI: The body of infamous gangster killed last night during police encounter has reached at his residence in Afshani gali where large number of residents of the area is gathered. Business activities in Lyari have been completely suspended as sporadic firing is continued.

Security has been tightened in metropolis to avoid any untoward incident. Earlier, bodies of Rahman Dakait and his three aides Waja Aqeel, Nazeer Baloch and Orangzeb Baba were handed over to relatives. The bodies shifted to Afshani gali of Lyari under stern security. Police mobile came under fire attack during journey, however, situation brought under control.

Angry people burnt tyres, carried out aerial firing and forced traders to close shops and business in Soldier Bazar, Pak Colony, Jahangir Road and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

The educational activities have been suspended in ‘Baba-e-Urdu’ campus of Urdu University located near Civil Hospital due to tense situation of the area.

The funeral prayers of Dakait and his aides will be offered after Zohar prayer in Eidgah near Nawalane chowk. Later, the bodies of Rehman Dakait and Waja Aqeel will be sent to Hub for burial whereas Nazeer Malah and Orangzeb Baba will be buried in Mewashaha graveyard.

According to chief of Lyari peace committee Zafar Baloch, three-day mourning will be observed in the area. He said Rehman Dakait was killed in fake police encounter while he was traveling to Karachi from Balochistan’s Ormara city.
