China trip has been more fruitful than expected : PM Nawaz Sharif
GUANGZHOU: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says, his official trip to China has proven more fruitful than he expected, Geo News reported.

Speaking to the media in Guangzhou the PM added, that agreements have been signed for the construction of the motorway from Karachi to Lahore as well as the Khashgar-Gwadar project and that work on both will be expedited.

The PM added that a cell will be created at the Prime Minister house to monitor the Chinese projects. Regarding the Khashgar-Gwadar project the PM said that it will benefit both countries as well as the region, further adding that the Pak-China economic corridor will benefit 3 billion people.

Pakistan’s Energy Woes

On the energy shortfall the prime minister said that Chinese companies will invest in the energy sector in Pakistan, and that the shortage exists because previous governments did not address the issue.

Diamer tragedy, Law & Order

The prime minister also addressed the Diamer tragedy in which touring mountaineers were killed including some from China, saying the incident has tarnished Pakistan’s image. He stressed that the Chinese government is concerned about its people and that he felt mountaineers will not come to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the law and order situation needs to be addressed, and that all law enforcement agencies will have to work together and cooperate to address this problem.
