GUJRANWALA: Vast areas have been submerged by floodwater due to breach in a dyke of a watercourse in Kamoke Tehsil of Gujranwala, Geo News reported Sunday.
The surging water in the aftermath of recent rain caused a breach in the Nala Dake in Moza Nathrawali, destroying crops spread over hundred acres of land and inundating several villages.
Local administration with heavy machinery and other equipment rushed to the area and was repairing the dyke with the help of residents of the area.
Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Muhammad Asif took notice of the situation and sought a report. Asif said that the administration was working to repair the dykes and there was no risk to local population due to floodwater.
