Dengue fever claims another life in Karachi

KARACHI: Dengue virus claimed another life in the megapolis on Tuesday, pushing the tally of total deaths from the fever to five in the current year, Geo News reported.

According to Dengue Surveillance Cell (DSC) Incharge Dr Shakil Malik, 20-year old Noman, resident of New Karachi, who had contracted the dengue virus, died here today. He was admitted to a private hospital a week ago.

Dengue fever has so far devoured five people in Karachi while 478 people have been diagnosed with the disease this year. As many as 20 patients of dengue are presently under treatment in various hospitals of the city.
