Nawaz, Manmohan meeting expected on 26-27 September
ISLAMABAD: A meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh is expected on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to diplomatic sources, the meeting which will focus on bilateral issues with an emphasis on tension along the Line of Control (LoC) will be held in New York between 26-27 September.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the UN General Assembly on September 27, while Manmohan Singh’s address is scheduled for September 28.

A report published by an Indian newspaper stated that Prime Minister Sharif’s advisor on foreign affairs and security, Sartaj Aziz will meet Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in Kyrgyzstan on September 13.

Following his election, Prime Minister Sharif has emphasized the need to improve relations with India.
