KARACHI: At least three alleged Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists were killed in an encounter with the cops of Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Mauripur area here on Thursday.
According to CID Garden area chief, Chaudhry Aslam, a team of cops went after the alleged militants and cornered them near Eidhi's graveyard, but the terrorists put up fierce armed resistance leading to a gunfight that lasted for quite a while.
"In the shootout that ensued three alleged militants, identified as Niaz alias Zakir, Tahir alias Abdullah and Roz Wali, belonging to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were killed while five others managed to escape", said he.
An AK-47, four pistols, and hand grenades were seized after the encounter, he added.
Later, the the bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for autopsy.
