HYDERABAD: And now the police and Rangers have started their targeted operation in this second largest city of the province of Sindh on Wednesday morning here, following the underway operation in the port city Karachi, Geo News reported.
Police sources said that 38 accused were taken into custody and weapons recovered from them during a joint operation conducted this morning in an Afghan settlement at Hala Naka here.
The forces of as many as 25 police stations, 9 DSPs and a strong contingent of 400 Rangers personnel participated in the search operation, police sources said.
The authorities have decided to launch operation in 9 districts of Hyderabad region to dig out the Karachi runaway 53 wanted terrorists and other criminals involved in extortions, murders, target killings, bomb blasts and Lyari gang war as announced yesterday by Hyderabad DIG, Naim Akram Bharoka in a press conference here.
Districts Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Jamshoro, Thatta, Nawabshah, Dadu, Badin and Matriari are included where operation being conducted against the criminals on the specific information of the intelligence agencies, said the Hyderabad DIG.
