PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Army launched an offensive against militants in different areas of North Waziristan tribal region that borders war-stricken Afghanistan, sources said Tuesday.
The sources said that gunship helicopters pounded militant hideouts in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan. The report about the losses could not be obtained till now.
Attacks on security forces in these areas have increased in recent days as on Sunday morning in a bomb attack two security men were martyred and five sustained injuries.
Mir Ali-Miranshsh Road is closed due to curfew in the area.
