QUETTA: The landlines are down in Quetta following a major fault in Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) subterranean fibreoptic cable, Geo News reported.
Sources said that PTCL’s underground cable broke down somewhere in Quetta and Wadh.
“All the landlines are dead and Internet connectivity has also been badly affected in the provincial capital of Balochistan”, the sources added.
The city's landline connection with the rest of the country as well as world has been cut off.
The citizens are facing a myriad of difficulties as this fault-induced disconnection has rendered them unable to access the government hospitals, rescue, and other services, which can only be reached through landlines.
