ISLAMABAD: The government committee formed to hold peace talks has written a letter to the committee nominated by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to sources, the letter calls for an immediate end to Taliban activity as terrorist attacks are having a negative impact on peace talks.
Members of the Taliban committee say they have not received the letter written by the government committee. They expressed their reservations to the government committee for trying to hold the dialogue process via the media.
The coordinator the government committee, Irfan Siddiqui said the letter was faxed to the Taliban on Thursday morning.
Talking to Geo News, Irfan Siddiqui said Taliban committee member Yousuf Shad had received the letter. Irfan Siddiqui did not disclose the content of the letter.
Earlier, Taliban committee member Professor Ibrahim said the recommendations of the TTP political shura had been conveyed to the government and there were now awaiting a reply.
Professor Ibrahim further said there was no meeting scheduled between the two committees on Thursday and Friday.
