KARACHI: Two security personnel were injured when a suicide blast occurred in Qayyumabad area of Karachi Friday morning. The blast targeted a Rangers officer’s vehicle when he was passing through the area.
According to Rangers’ spokesman, Wing Commander of Ghazi Rangers along with security personnel was on way to Defence and was passing through Qayyumabad area when a suicide bomber blew himself in front of his vehicle, causing damage to the car.
Fortunately, the officer and security personnel remained safe in the suicide attack, however, two personnel sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital.
Some body parts were found from the explosion site, indicating that it was a suicide attack.
Security personnel cordoned off the area and started investigation to ascertain the facts.
It is pertinent to mention that an anti-polio team was also attacked in the same area a while ago where three polio vaccinators were killed.
On Thursday, 13 policemen men were killed in a bombing claimed by the Taliban in Karachi.
