KARACHI: At least 15 people including five women and two students were killed in three hand grenade attacks in the troubled Lyari neighbourhood of the city.
25 more people were injured in the attacks which took place in the Jhat Par Market of the locality.
The neighbourhood has been plagued by an ongoing gang-war between two rival groups.
Earlier on Wednesday, Shiraz Zikri, the brother of notorious gangster Ghaffar Zikri was killed in a joint raid conducted by Rangers and police in the locality. Shiraz Zikri alias Fateh Muhammad was involved in various crimes and was a wanted criminal, sources said.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the violence in Lyari and called for a review of the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.
