KARACHI: Four persons were killed in different firing and violent incidents across the metropolis while two accused were also shot dead in alleged police encounters, Geo News reported on Wednesday.

According to police, two persons were gunned down in separate firing incidents that took place in Lyari and Frontier Colony area of Metroville. Another man was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Malir.

The spokesman of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) told that the deceased, who was identified as Habibullah, was their party worker.

In another incident, body of a woman was found from a house near Kala Pul area. The deceased woman was strangled to death, sources told.

On the other hand, an alleged police encounter took place in New Karachi sector 11-J during which a wanted extortionist, identified as Muhammad Ali alias Kuppi, was killed.

Another encounter occurred in Paposh Nagar near Chandni Chowk during which a dacoit named Ali Haider alias Ali Irani was killed.
