Karachi hit by second major power breakdown in 24 hours
KARACHI: The residents of Karachi suffered yet another power breakdown on Friday night, making it the second power breakdown within 24 hours.

The metropolitan city plunged into darkness after Iftar on Friday night leaving people frustrated in the hot and humid weather. Earlier a major power breakdown was also experienced a little after midnight on Thursday as multiple K-Electric grid stations went offline. The power was restored Friday evening after a long 12 hour breakdown.

The widespread outage affected Saddar, Clifton, Garden, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Burns Road, Jamshed Town, Jacob Lines, New Town, Railway Colony, Defence, Clifton, Qayyumabad, Sultanabad, Cantt., Kemari, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Quaidabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and several other areas in the city.
