Toxic liquor kills 7 in Rahimyar Khan

RAHIMYAR KHAN: At least seven persons, including two brothers lost their lives on Saturday, as a result of consuming toxic liquor.

According to the police, the condition of the seven persons deteriorated after consuming poisonous liquor on Friday night, after which they were all admitted to the hospital where they died during treatment.

Four of those affected by the alcohol were admitted into Liaquatpur Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, while one was admitted in Bhawalpur Victoria Hospital and another in Rahimyar Khan Sheikh Zayed Hospital.

Police fear the death toll may rise, as several persons affected by the toxic liquor have not come to the hospital fearing police action.

Meanwhile, the police have begun an investigation into the incident.
