ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan tendered a six page reply to the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry’s defamation notice.
The PTI chief in his reply, submitted through his lawyers, appreciated Iftikhar Chaudhry’s bravery and firm stand against a dictator, for which the entire nation salutes him.
The reply clarifies Khan’s position stating, that it is possible Iftikhar Chaudhry’s address to the returning officers was in the best interest of holding free and fair elections.
In his reply Khan praises the Chief Justice’s 2009 decision, adding that he accepts the former chief justice’s contribution and service towards strengthening rule of law and the constitution.
The reply admits that Imran Khan made a mistake in his choice of words, adding that Imran Khan hopes Iftikhar Chaudhry will overlook his mistake.
