LONDON: At least 12 people were injured as a fire broke out at a hotel in central London, local media said Saturday.
Sources said that former Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari was also staying at Hyatt Regency Churchill Hotel where the fire erupted.
The sources, however said the Pakistan People’s Party leader was not present at the time of the incident.
Dr Asim, former minister and close aide of the former president, confirmed that Mr Zardari was staying at the hotel.
The Scotland Yard said the fire erupted due to a gas explosion at the hotel's kitchen.
The media reports said that the hotel has been evacuated by rescue services while fire tenders were trying to extinguish the flames.
