ALSHEHER: A Pakistan Navy ship sailed from Alsheher with 150 stranded Pakistanis as well as 36 stranded foreigners including 11 Indians on Saturday.

According to latest updates from the Foreign Office, the vessel will first dock in Hudaida to collect an additional 34 Pakistanis tomorrow (Sunday). Meanwhile a special PIA flight will depart for Sana’a to evacuate 174 stranded Pakistanis.

Earlier Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam confirmed that 150 Pakistanis were onboard the Pakistan Navy vessel.

“Chinese students and employees, mostly European and Indians of a company whose CEO facilitated our citizens, are on PN ship for evacuation,” Aslam tweeted.

“We were brought to Alsheher which is 50 KM from Mukalla under tight security,” said Shahzain who is among the stranded Pakistanis.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold a meeting on the situation in Yemen at 8:00 PM PST. The UNSC will deliberate on civilian deaths in Yemen and a Russian proposal for possible humanitarian pauses in air strikes.

Saudia Arabia and its allies launched Operation Decisive Storm against the Houthi rebels on March 26 to halt their advance in Yemen.
