HARIPUR/LAHORE: Two rapists were hanged to death separately here in Haripur and Lahore on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

A 45-year-old child rapist — identified as Muhammad Jehanzeb, a resident of Charkha Khel — was hanged to death in Central Jail Haripur. He was sentenced to death by Shariah Court for sexually assaulting and murdering his minor sister-in-law in 1998.

His body was later handed over to his relatives.

On the other hand, a man charged with a triple homicide was hanged to death in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail — officially known as Lahore Central Prison — at 4:30AM on Wednesday.

According to jail sources, Ashraf was charged with murdering three women — Ayesha, Deeba, and Mariyam — in the Masti Gate area in 2002 over a marriage dispute.

His black warrant had been issued two days ago and a last meeting with his relatives was also arranged then.

His body was later handed over to his relatives.
