Police stop MQM’s protest rally at Mazar-e-Quaid

KARACHI: Police has stopped at Mazar-e-Quaid a protest rally of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) which was taken out from Liaquatab.

The rally comprising MQM leaders and workers to mark its protest against what it called the arrests of party workers was meant to culminate at Shaheen Complex but the police blocked its way at Mazar-e-Quaid.

However, some of the MQM workers managed to break through the barricades and police cordon and began to march towards Shaheen Complex. At this point MQM leaders stopped and called the protesting workers back.

Till last reports came in, a negotiation was ongoing between MQM leaders and SSP Jamshed Town. Those representing MQM in the talks include Dr. Farooq Sattar, Shahid Pasha and Muhammad Hussain.
