KOTLI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that Sharif brothers – PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif – are scared of 12 cases of corruption being investigated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against them.

Speaking at a public rally oraganised at Azad Kashmir’s Kotli district, he said elimination of corruption was necessary for the country’s progress, adding that whatever becomes a hurdle in the way of free accountability should be removed.

Lauding his party’s government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Khan said corruption was least prevalent in KP in comparison to other provinces of Pakistan.

Terming corruption a necessity for the corrupt elements due to involvement of money in power, the PTI chief said that Prime Minister Sharif was scared of NAB for the same reason.

He said the time was ripe to change the destiny of Kashmiris, emphasizing the importance of local government system in Azad Kashmir.

“There’s clear difference between KP and other provinces… naya (new) Azad Kashmir will be governed following the KP model,” said Khan.

“Stopping rigging in Kashmir election is a big challenge but if it’s achieved then PTI will emerge victorious.”
