Amir’s toe-crusher leaves Rohit Sharma injured

Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir’s fiery spell against India in Saturday’s Asia Cup T20 match has left opener Rohit Sharma injured, the Indian media reported on Sunday.

Amir bowled the first over for Pakistan defending a meager total of 83 and left Sharma with a sore left toe with the very first delivery, leading to the Indian batting maestro’s dismissal on the very next ball.

According to Indian media, Rohit Sharma had undergone an X-Ray test on Sunday morning as a precautionary measure.

However, the team management said that the injury was not serious and that the Sharma was not likely to miss the game against Sri Lanka on March 1.

Amir dismissed Sharma and his opening partner Ajinkya Rahane with a couple of in-swingers, leaving India at two for two at the end of the first over. He also got rid of dangerous Suresh Raina in his second over.

The left-arm pacer also won some praise from Virat Kohli along the way.

“I would like to congratulate Mohammad Amir for the way he bowled, I actually congratulated him while he was bowling. I was really happy to play such an amazing spell of fast bowling. May god bless him with more success,” said the ace Indian batsman.

However, despite Amir’s heroics India went on to beat Pakistan by 5 wickets with plenty of overs to spare.
