ECP to hear fake degrees cases Monday

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hear cases pertaining to fake and invalid degrees of 12 members of National and provincial assemblies.

Four MNAs, 6 members of Punjab Assembly, one member of Khuber-Pakhtoonkhwa Assembly and one legislator of Balochistan Assembly have been summoned in Islamabad.

These parliamentarians include: MNAs Hayatullah Tarin, Ghulan Dastagir Rajar, Nasir Ali Shah and Mir Hamdan Khan; members Punjab Assembly Safdar Gul, Zulfiqar Ali, Badshah Khan Qaisrani, Rizwan Gul, Haji Nasir and Shaukat Aziz Bhatti; legislator from Balochistan Assembly Yar Muhammad Rind.

The ECP has so far received 58 fake degrees.

According to ECP spokesman initial hearing of 37 parliamentarians has been completed while hearing of the rest of such parliamentarians will be completed in the two weeks.
