Langov was produced before the accountability court after completion of his 14-day remand

QUETTA: The accountability court on Wednesday handed over former finance adviser to the chief minister Balochistan, Mir Khalid Langov to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) under remand till June 21.

Langov was produced before the accountability court after completion of his 14-day remand.

Strict security measures were taken for Langov’s arrival in the court in relation to the ongoing investigation of Balochistan secretary finance Mushtaq Raisani’s corruption scandal.

The NAB requested the court to grant an extension in Khalid Langov’s remand, which the court accepted and granted a time period of another 14 days for the accused’s remand.

Earlier in May, Langov said he was stepping down from his post to aid transparent investigations after a huge amount of the ill-gotten money was recovered from the residence of the provincial finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani.

NAB had recovered more than Rs730 million from Raisani’s residence. He has been accused of embezzling billions of rupees from the local government development funds.
