KARACHI: Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to observe black day tomorrow by boycotting by-election of PS-94 scheduled to be held in the metropolis on October 17.
ANP President Sindh, Shahi Syed announced this after chairing a meeting of the party’s think tank held here at Mardan House on Saturday.
“The party has decided to boycott tomorrow’s by-polls in Karachi in protest against government’s non-cooperation in regard to putting in place strict security arrangements on the occasion of election,” he said.
He said the government is not ready to hold by-election under the supervision of Army, alleging that the government intends to provide cover to ‘Thappa (stamp) mafia’. Therefore, ANP will observe black day tomorrow and boycott the by-polls, he added.
