KARACHI: Former president and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday called newly elected Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah to Dubai, sources said.
Murad Ali Shah is leaving immediately for Dubai, the sources said, adding that he arrived in Karachi from Larkana as per a scheduled flight.
The newly elected CM Sindh spent a busy day at Larkana today, where he arrived at Garhi Khuda Baksh with a protocol comprising 32 vehicles.
He went to Garhi Khuda Baksh with his cabinet members and visited Z.A. Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto’s tombs. He laid wreaths on their graves.
In Larkana, he visited the hospital where injured Rangers officers were under treatment after Saturday’s twin blasts near their checkpost in the city.
CM Sindh also in a press conference in Garhi Khuda Baksh said that the local government’s first priority would be establishment of peace.
On the subject of extension of Rangers’ policing powers in Sindh, he said that the issue would be resolved soon.
The CM Sindh said that he is not fond of protocol but security is necessary.
The CM Sindh also strongly condemned the Larkana bombings that martyred a Rangers' officer and injured several others on Saturday.
Murad Ali Shah said that in the past, developmental work has been carried out in Larkana and more would be done.
Murad Ali Shah expressed gratitude for Muttahid Quami Movement (MQM) for not having a contender against him in the provincial assembly’s elections.
To a question, he said that wherever criminals are present in Sindh, the law enforcement agencies would take action against them.
The new CM vowed to eliminate corruption from Sindh and serve the public.
