PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday inaugurated the Sehat Insaf Card program which the provincial government hopes will benefit fifty-percent of the provinces population.
Addressing the ceremony PTI chairman Imran Khan told the provincial government to focus on the people of the province rather than indulging self-projection tactics.
Through the Sehat Insaf program, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government aims to provide health insurance cards to 1.8 million households which will entitle 8 members of the household to free medical treatment up to Rs. 540,000.
Initially the program focused on four districts of the province, but in the second phase the ambit has been increased to cover the entire province.
The Sehat Insaf program will run for two years and will cost over Rs. 5360 million.
Addressing the ceremony Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak declared that in his three years in office, inaugurating the Sehat Insaf card has made him happiest because through it the poor will be able to get free healthcare.
