KARACHI: Sindh Adviser for Information Maula Bakhsh Chandio on Sunday said that it was earlier decided in the Sindh Apex Committee session that whoever would collect animal hides should submit an audit report.

Chandio was addressing a press conference in Karachi, and said that it would be pertinent to mention in the report how the money from animal skins would be utilised.

“Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s decision not to collect animal hides this year is its own,” Chandio said, adding that the Sindh government has no qualms over the party’s collection of animal skins.

Farooq Sattar today said that at this time on Eidul Azha MQM will not collect animal hides, although it will participate in cleaning up the city.

Earlier, significant decisions were taken during the first apex committee on August 31, under Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

The apex committee decided that all the illegal offices of any political party will be terminated.

The committee had also agreed to strictly follow the code of conduct concerning animal hides as Eidul Azha is just around the corner, sources had said.

“No one will be allowed to forcibly take animal skins,” it was agreed upon in the meeting.
