The Punjab government said that it is working on deploying security guards on vehicles offering pick and drop facilities to children for school.

Schools in Punjab had shut down last month over fears of child kidnappings, after which the court had directed that guards be appointed for transport services for children.

The court has demanded a report from the government on the developments pertaining to security of children.
