LAHORE: Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has said he has no intentions of calling it quits on T20I and ODI cricket.
Saeed Ajmal, speaking to Geo News on Tuesday, said he plans to continue playing the 20- and 50-over formats of the game.
The off-spinner said that he had proven his form and fitness in the National T20 Cup and that he would not accept any offer from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to retire from T20s and ODIs.
“But if the PCB asks me to retire from Test cricket after giving me a farewell match then I would accept,” he added.
It was announced yesterday that the PCB will meet on September 26 to discuss a farewell match for all-rounder Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal.
PCB chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed said on Monday that a decision for the farewell match will be made after consulting former captain Shahid Afridi.
Chairman PCB executive committee Najam Sethi had said on September 17 that the board would give a fitting sendoff to Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal, after earlier reports had suggested that the board had shelved plans for the farewell match.
