Alex, a six-year old boy from New York recently wrote a letter to the Barack Obama that has gone viral.
The letter requested the President to bring Syrian refugee Omran Daqneesh to his home, offering him a place to stay after seeing him bloodied and dazed in a video which went viral on social media.
He wrote, "Dear President Obama, remember the boy who was picked up by the ambulance in Syria? Can you please go get him and bring him to our home ... we'll be waiting for you guys with flags flowers and balloons. We will give him a family and he will be our brother."
The letter was so impactful that Obama quoted Alex’s words at a United Nations summit on the refugee crisis this week.
"We should all be more like Alex," the President wrote.
"Imagine what the world would look like if we were. Imagine the suffering we could ease and the lives we could save."
This unique letter has gone viral on the internet and has been shared 60,000 times on Facebook.
This year a video of young Syrian boy Omran Daqneesh sitting silently in an ambulance after being rescued from an air strike on Aleppo, bloodied and dusty, became an iconic image of the conflict in Syria.
