ISLAMABAD: The smuggling of 350 Pakistanis from Islamabad Airport to Libya with fake visas in alleged collusion with FIA personnel has been discovered leading to a formal investigation being launched.
350 Pakistanis were smuggled to Libya from Islamabad Airport in the months of June, July and August this year, this was made possible with alleged help of FIA personnel, and it is now the FIA that has launched an investigation.
In the inquiry FIA Deputy Director Nawaz-ul-Haq along with five other personnel Nadeem Zafar, Bilal Abbasi, Zia-ul-Hasan, Tariq and Abdul Rehman have been accused of being involved of taking a huge amount of money.
Deputy Director Nadeem-ul-Haq when contacted by Geo News, said that he was never deployed at the airport, and referred to all the allegations as false accusations.
High ranking FIA officials told Geo News that they have been informed about the involvement of Turkish Airline Deputy Station Manager in the incident as well and investigations regarding the matter are underway.
According to sources, passengers with forged visas of Uganda and Sudan were given clearance from Islamabad Airport on to transit flight to Turkey but were given new boarding pass to their destination at Turkey’s Istanbul Airport.
FIA Islamabad Director Mazhar-ul Haq Kakakhel has given approval of investigations upon these serious allegations, and handed it over to the assistant director Crimes Kamar Zaman.
