KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)CEO Bernd Hildenbrand aims to make PIA one of the top 100 airlines of the world and shared his vision of raising the airline's fleet to 60 aircraft by 2020.
The PIA CEOwas a guest speaker at theRotari Club Karachi on Monday where he delivered atalk outlining the way forward for PIA.
Highlighting the improvements being made in every single department the CEO stressed that reliability is of utmost importance for an airline and lauded the efforts of PIA management that has resulted in 99-percent regularity and an 85-percent on-time performance which is second only to Saudi Airlines in the region.
To realize the vision and plans he has for the airline, Hildenbrand shared how PIA employees are being asked to change their mindset and focus on customer facilitation to improve customer experience.
PIA has plans to increase its fleet to 60 aircraft and has already announced an increase in frequency of domestic flights and international flights to Paris, New York, Toronto, Beigjing, Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah. PIA is also planning to start new flights to Barecelona,Leipzig, Salalah and Bangkok.
