ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday said that he would not be a part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s planned ‘lockdown’ of Islamabad, if such a plan materializes

Speaking during Geo News’ program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’, he said, “We were arriving in Islamabad unarmed. Couldn’t see our province being cut off from the country”.

Khattak said that anyone can protest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that he or his party doesn’t have any issues with such a protest.

He further claimed that no decision has been taken so far to shut down Islamabad, he was only going to the capital city to meet his party leader Imran Khan.

Earlier, police used tear gas shells against PTI convoy led by Pervaiz Khattak to Islamabad for the party’s planned ‘lockdown’ of the capital on November 02.

Clashes between security personnel and PTI workers were witnessed when the convoy was close to entering Punjab near the Swabi Interchange.

Enraged protesters also set multiple vehicles and bushes in the area on fire in Hazro, Motorway.

Meanwhile, the government has also enforced measures to deal with PTI workers reaching Islamabad. Containers have been brought to Islamabad to seal the Red Zone.
