Hate crimes against Muslims rose by 67% in US: FBI

Hate crimes against Muslims in the United States saw a drastic increase in 2015.

According the Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI), the number of hate crimes against Muslims rose by 67 percent in 2015. In 2015, there were 257 hate crimes against Muslims, as compared to 154 in 2014.

This is the highest rate of hate crimes against Muslims since 9/11. In 2001, there were 481 hate crimes against Muslims reported. Since then the most number of hate crimes against Muslims were 160, until 2015 which was the second highest since reporting began in 1992.
