ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is considering to replace one of his existing lawyers in the Panama Leaks case taken up by the Supreme Court, it emerged on Thursday.
The session of PTI’s legal team took place under Imran Khan in which the party leaders advised him to seek a replacement for main lawyer Hamid Khan, who has failed to effectively put forth the party's stance.
Some of the party leaders suggested that a lawyer with an aggressive style of presentation would suffice as the case has political basis.
The party leaders also raised doubts over Naeem Bukhari’s performance as a party lawyer in the proceedings.
Sources said that chances are Babar Awan would be considered as a main lawyer in the case, although final decision will be taken after Imran’s return from London.
A larger bench of the Supreme Court resumed hearing of the Panama Leaks case today.
In the hearing, Justice Azmat Saeed said if the claims of the children of the prime minister prove true then PTI's petition will be dismissed. "Now it is up to you Hamid Khan sahib that you pay attention to the documents submitted by the Prime Minister's children," he told PTI's lawyer.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said, "You have pointed out the mistakes. Now give us documentary evidence."
"We can not scrutinise the entire life of Nawaz Sharif," he added.
The court adjourned the hearing till November 30.
