ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to change his ulterior motives instead of his legal counsel in the Panama Leaks case.

In a statement here, the minister said the nation was watching who was lying. She said that the nation's journey towards progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not be stopped.

The statement comes hours after PTI's attorney Hamid Khan recused from representing the opposition party in the Panama Leaks case against PM Nawaz Sharif and his family.

Khan said he could fight a case in the courts, but was unable to fight a battle on media.

“We lawyers have our own way of presenting a case, which is why I refused to continue with the case,” he said, adding that he informed Imran Khan that he cannot 'fight the battle on the media front.

Earlier, some media reports suggested that PTI chief Imran Khan was unhappy with the performance of his attorneys in the case.

It emerged on Thursday that Imran Khan is considering to replace one of his existing lawyers in the Panama Leaks case.

In a session of PTI’s legal team chaired Imran Khan, party leaders had advised the chairman to seek a replacement for main lawyer Hamid Khan, who failed to effectively put forth the party's stance.
