PESHAWAR: A bomb attack on a mosque in Darra Adam Khel on Friday killed at least 50 people and wounded more than 100 others, most of them in a critical condition, a senior local official said.

"At least 50 people have been martyred," Shahid Ullah, district administration chief of Kohat, told Geo TV.

"The death toll is likely to rise," he said.

"More than 100 are wounded and most of them are in a critical condition and have been taken to hospital."

People were exiting the Waali Mosque following Friday prayers when the bomber attacked.

Video from the scene showed screaming women, white-bearded old men in blood-stained clothes and a child being wheeled into the emergency room of a nearby hospital.
