ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) wondered about the functioning of national spy agencies, Geo News reported Thursday.
The apex court passed critical remarks on report from spy agencies during the hearing of a case regarding prisoners who went missing from Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry asked Attorney General as to under which law, the secret agencies are functioning in Pakistan, for they could not be made party to any case.
‘Various important points have been raised in response from the sensitive agencies; and such objections do have far-reaching ramifications.’
The CJ Chaudhry said the apex court served notices to secret agencies as it is authorized for the same.
The court sought answers from Punjab Home Secretary, Police RPO and District’s DCO for the case.
