Dean Jones backs Rumman’s inclusion in ODI team

KARACHI: Islamabad United coach Dean Jones has backed the inclusion of Rumman Raees, saying that the fast bowler should be getting more opportunities than he is getting at the moment.

In an interview with Geo News, he said 25-year-old Rumman —who is known for his cool and calm celebration — was the best fast bowler under pressure in Pakistan Super League 2017.

“I have never seen a person enjoy bowling more when the batsmen are going after you. He is a very different breed”, Jones added.

He said that a bowler needs to be intelligent while using the variations in modern day limited overs cricket and Rumman is as intelligent as they come.

“People think he just has variations, he can clock up to 140kph and is getting faster each year”, he added.

Islamabad United coach said that Rumman should be getting more opportunities than he is at the moment.

Rumman has picked up one wicket in the two T20i matches he has played so far with an economy rate of 5.00, which is considered extremely low in cricket’s shortest format.

His variations also made life difficult for many batsmen during the PSL, baffling top cricketers from around the world.
