PFA seals juice factory in Lahore

Lahore: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed on Friday a juice factory in Lahore's Manga Mandi for preparing substandard juice and selling it to customers.

Moreover, the team also disposed of about 4,000 kilogrammes of prepared pulp.

To increase the quantity of the pulp, the factory workers were using chemicals, according to Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin.

Yasin also informed that the factory had been sealed previously as well for the same reason, but it reopened after factory owner promised to improve the quality of the juice.

Another factory seized in Kasur

Moreover, PFA team also seized another factory in Kasur for preparing substandard juice.

The team also seized about 35,000 litres of prepared juice and 45,000 litres of pulp.

PFA director Rafia Haider also informed that the factory employees were using textile colours to prepare the substandard juices.

Furthermore, medical reports of the factory employees revealed that many of them were suffering from hepatitis.
