RAJANPUR: An exchange of fire continued between police and bandits in Rajanpur’s Rojhan, which claimed the life of Station House Officer Sajjad Rambani and a civilian.

According to police, the ensuing shootout also wounded four policemen and six civilians.

In April last year, a hundred army officers participated in Rajanpur operation to rescue 18 policemen held hostage by the Chhotu Gang.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had then said that the gangsters had sanctuaries in the riverine area which were difficult to identify.

Over 1,600 police officers from seven districts had taken part in the operation.
