QUETTA: Frontier Corps Balochistan foiled a bid of terrorism and arrested three terrorists near Pak-Afghan border.

This was stated by Deputy Inspector General Frontier corps Balochistan Brigadier Shahzad Akhtar at a briefing FC Headquarters here Thursday afternoon. Commandant Pishin Scouts Brig Asad Shahzada was also present during the briefing.

DIG FC told that in view of Muharramul Haram security along Pak-Afghan was heighted and comprehensive measures were adopted in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies.

On a tip off that a plan has been prepared for subversion and terrorism in different areas of the province particularly in Quetta and arms and ammunition would be shifted from across the border, FC in league with other law enforcement agencies further heightened the security along Pak-Afghan border in close links with other law enforcement agencies. It cordoned traditional and non traditional routes and started joint patrol.

Security forces spotted two suspected vehicles along the border near Chaman City. When searched large quantity of arms and ammunition were seized. Seized arms and ammunition included Suicidal jackets (3), explosive (20 Kg), Grenades (30), SMG (1), SMG rounds (200)cylinder IED, pistols (3), RPG-7 (4), Rocket launcher (1) and others.

Three persons were also taken into custody. They were undergoing intensive investigation. Their identity was being kept secret for security reasons, DIG added.
