ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman has summoned a meeting on Monday to discuss the implementation of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama Papers case.
According to sources, the meeting will be attended by the bureau’s deputy chairman, prosecutor general, director general operations and director general Rawalpindi.
NAB has yet to receive a copy of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the case, sources revealed to Geo News.
The Supreme Court on Friday announced its verdict in the Panama Papers case disqualifying Nawaz Sharif from public office.
In the verdict, all five judges ruled to send references against Nawaz Sharif, his children Maryam, Hussain and Hasan, son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar and Ishaq Dar to an accountability court.
The court ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file a reference against the accused in an accountability court in six weeks and directed for the trial to be wrapped up within six months.
