LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidate for NA-120 by-election Dr Yasmin Rashid said that markets around Bund road are forcefully being shut down by the authorities over the arrival of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz chief in Lahore.
She said that the Punjab Chief Minister has told Patwaris (land revenue officials) to gather people with flags to welcome Nawaz Sharif.
“We respect the vote, we respect voters. Every voter deserves respect. The authorities may use all the state machinery in the constituency it is of no use as the poor man has finally decided to stand against the Sharif monarchy,” she said.
She challenged CM Shehbaz Sharif to contest election against her from the constituency.
“PML-N has not even nominated anyone for the polls. We are here in the constituency and from today we are going to door-to-door campaign,” she added.
Dr Rashid said that PTI won't let the government rig the election this time.
