South Africa win toss and field against India

DURBAN: South Africa captain Graeme Smith won the toss and opted to field in the rain-delayed second Test against India at Kingsmead Sunday.

Smith could not conceal his glee at bowling first on a green track as his team seek to build on an innings-and-25-run first Test triumph over the world number one Test team.

South Africa retained the team that won at SuperSport Park in Centurion while India made three changes with Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara and Zaheer Khan coming in.

A hand injury ruled out opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, poor form led to the demotion of Suresh Raina, and Jaidev Unadkat made way for fit-again fast bowler Khan.

Play was scheduled to start at 0800GMT (1000 local time), but the rain induced dampness at both ends of the wicket and delayed the start by one hour in the Indian Ocean city.
