Blast rocks city of Kandahar

KANDAHAR: A powerful explosion rocked the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Monday and gunfire was also heard, a witness said.

Taliban-led insurgents have previously carried out suicide attacks in the province, which is a stronghold of the militants.
