KARACHI: The Sindh government would not be comfortable in holding talks with IGP AD Khawaja now that the high court has imposed its decision regarding his stay, said senior PPP leader Saeed Ghani.

While speaking on Geo News' show Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath on Thursday, Ghani said if courts will take decision over keeping or removing the inspector general of police then the provincial government should not be held responsible for the consequences.

He added the decision of transfers and postings should remain with the provincial government as it is the one held responsible when law and order disrupts.

Ghani was talking about the Sindh High Court's decision announced earlier in the day declaring illegal all notifications issued against AD Khawaja.

He added it was odd that issues were taking place between the Sindh government and its police head at a time when operation against terrorists were under way in the province.operation against terrorists were under way in the province.

Earlier in the day, the Sindh High Court announced that AD Khawaja shall continue to work as the IGP of Sindh. The high court ordered the provincial government to hold discussions and bring reforms in the police department. However, the PPP government stated that they would continue their legal fight against the issue.
