KARACHI: The traffic police on Sunday said that the traffic situation was clear across the metropolis.
Regular flow of traffic was reported in Karachi's various districts, including south, city, east, west, central, Korangi, and Malir, according to a situation report of the ongoing sit-ins across the metropolitan.
Sit-ins in various parts of the city by a religious group continued for the second day today (Sunday) after the launch of an operation in Islamabad a day ago.
According to reports, protesters staged sit-ins at Numaish Chowrangi, Tower, Al-Asif Square, Orangi, Landhi, Jauhar Chowrangi, Punjab Chowrangi, and Hub River Road. They had also gathered at Nagan Chowrangi and Mausamiat earlier in the day, and blocked roads leading to traffic difficulties for the residents.
Containers were placed on the road leading to Governor House as well as the road from Teen Hatti to Jehangir Road.
Protesters had agreed to open a route from Tower leading to II Chundrigar Road after talks with Rangers, which restored the flow of traffic from Saddar to II Chundrigar earlier today.
Shahra-e-Faisal remained open for the public today after it was closed till late Saturday due to protests.
At least 30 people were reported injured in different incidents across Karachi on Saturday after demonstrations sprung up in response to the government's operation against protesters gathered in Islamabad.
