LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority on Saturday announced to ban the sale and purchase of Chooran (digestive powder) in the province.

Noorul Amin Mengal, the director general of the Punjab Food Authority said that in light of the health hazard, a decision has been taken to ban the sale and purchase of Chooran. He said that the item usually consumed by children have excess of Tartaric acid, which could lead to Ulcer and other such diseases.

Mengal warned that those involved in the business should quit it as strict action will be taken against them by the authorities from now on.
